The addictive strawberry salad has also become a fan favorite, perfectly demonstrating the creative use of seasonal ingredients.
As for the appetizers, the chips and salsa trio is a must-try. Guests have praised it for its variety, with options that range from mild to fiery hot, complementing any munch session. Alma has a stylish, swanky vibe, both indoors and al fresco. The corn chowder (12 plus tax) was excellent. The watermelon salad (18), while good, would have been perfect if there were more cheese crumbles and the chiles sliced ultra thin.
Spacious, with indoor/outdoor bar and patio seating. The service was amazing. We started work chips and salsa. Wow! There were three types of salsa from mild to spicy. All three are my favorites. Lol. I tried the pork chops and substituted the sweet potatoes for whipped potates. The meal was hearty,,, very filling. The restaurant is located within a shopping center. There is plenty of parking. Accessible entrances.
Definitely a fun place to visit. Loved the margarita flights. Food was really good as well. We went for happy hour. It was a good time.
June 19, 2025 Repeat Visit When your out-of-town family says, “Take us somewhere local,” you take them to Alma. No hesitation. We were lucky enough to sit in Juan’s section again—our favorite server from a previous visit—and once again, he delivered next-level service with that perfect blend of humor, charm, and menu wisdom. Thank you, Juan! This time around, I went in a slightly lighter direction, starting with the Addictive Strawberry Salad—and yes, it lives up to its name. The combo of spinach, arugula, creamy goat cheese, toasted almonds, and juicy strawberries, all tossed in a bright raspberry vinaigrette? Some of my very favorite ingredients all in one dish? Yes, please! Chef’s kiss. We also shared the salsa trio—fresh, bold, vibrant, and the chips? Crispy perfection. Not a single crumb survived. My main dish was the Wild Mushroom Enchiladas and they might just be my new favorite. The herbed mushrooms and sauteed spinach tucked into those tortillas were rich and earthy, and the red chili sauce had just the right amount of heat. The side of southwest rice and sprinkle of pumpkin seeds made it hearty without being heavy. Oh—and I never skip the off-the-cob elote. Still obsessed. It’s got that buttery-crispy corn, chili-lime kick that hits every craveable note. Alma keeps delivering. And I keep coming back. No regrets. Just happy taste buds. May 9, 2025 First Visit May 10, 2025 Second Visit Is it a bad sign if you visit a "new-to-you" restaurant two days in a row? Maybe. But when the food is this good, who cares? Dinner Delight, well yeah! Night one at Alma started with drinks and apps. Juan, our awesome server, recommended the Blueberry Cornbread (hot, crispy, with honey butter) and Bacon Tater Tots (jalapeno bacon, cheddar jack, onion, chipotle crema, and tomato chili jam). Pro tip: Drag those hot tots through the cool tomato chili jam and I think your taste buds will do a happy dance. Cocktail of choice? The Spicy Chingona – prickly pear, lime juice, muddled jalapeno, and a mini sombrero for flair. The sweetness balanced the spice perfectly. We also tried the Alma Grand – a margarita with a DIY Grand Marnier pour, because who doesn't love drinks with a side of fun? Main courses didn’t disappoint. The Grilled Pork Chop (two juicy, bone-in chops with jalapeno bacon jam and charred veggies) was stellar. The Flat Iron Steak Fajitas with spicy pinto beans and warm tortillas hit every flavor note – perfectly flavorful medium-rare steak, smoky beans, and fresh guac. Brunch Bliss! Day two brought brunch, and since I’ve recently divorced eggs (long story), Aaron, our brunch guru, had me covered. The Chicken Enmoladas (no eggs, sub cowboy beans) were everything – soft corn tortillas, shredded chicken, and that Pumpkin Mole: smoky, sweet, earthy, and rich. It’s the kind of sauce that makes you pause and savor. On the side, the Avocado Toast with chunky guac, pomegranate and pumpkin seeds, and peppery arugula was the perfect complement. Alma has quickly become a new favorite. Food, drinks, and top-notch service – it’s worth the repeat visits. No shame. Just deliciousness.
Having only been once to Alma, we left saying, when we have guests visit us in AZ, we are taking them to Alma. Last night, we dined with visiting family and it was spectacular. We ordered ceviche and queso flamenado to share. Both excellent. Then we had several green pozoles and a shaved brussel sprout salad, amazing! For dinner, we had two Birria taco entrees, the pork chop, chicken mole and beef tongue tacos. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was fantastic and the manager remembered us from our first visit and came to our table to see how our meal was. Impressive customer service which is not a given these days. The variety of tequilas and mezcals are great with flights and lots of hand crafted cocktails to choose from. While we would have loved to have had dessert, we had to pass after sharing and feasting on so many awesome culinary delights. We won’t be able to wait for visitors to return, Alma’s menu has just too many options we want to try. We look forward to another 5 star dining experience at Alma.
AMAZING. We had brunch. Tres Leches pancakes, scrambled eggs with salsa verde hashbrown cakes. Get the OOPS I Did it Again! drink - trust me. Delicious. Service was great, food came out quickly & the patio is adorable. Will be back to try dinner.
They were super busy they seated us right away. Service was delightful. Food is excellent. Had a great time. Hannah is the best server ever!!!
We chose this restaurant for my mom’s 60th birthday and are so happy we did! We made a reservation for 15 a month in advance and Katie - the events coordinator - was so accommodating and nice. Christine was our waitress and she did a fantastic job with all our orders. Everyone’s food came out correct and we didn’t have to wait unusually long. The food itself was great, but the staff and nice ambiance was the icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend the birria quesadilla, the blueberry cornbread, Barbacoa tacos and the Diablo shrimp pasta.
